Before I became a mother, running a business was about growth, momentum, and moving fast. I was constantly in motion—launching new things, traveling to different cities, building our brand and community, expanding to different retailers, innovating. I loved the rhythm of it all. But after becoming a mom, something in me slowed down—and in that slowing down, I started to see everything differently.
Suddenly, the way I viewed time, energy, and legacy shifted. It wasn’t just about what I was creating anymore, but why I was creating it—and who I was creating it for.
From Hustle to Harmony
Before motherhood, the hustle felt like a badge of honor. I could work all-day every-day, skip meals, and push through weekend after weekend of events and business trips. Especially if it meant hitting a goal or delivering on a new project. But with a baby needing my time and attention, a body that needed deep healing and rest, and a limited mental capacity, I realized: that version of me doesn’t serve this new season.
Motherhood taught me the art of slowing down and doing things with more intention—not just in parenting, but in business too. I started asking deeper questions:
-
Is this aligned?
-
Does this feel good in my body?
-
Does this still matter?
-
Would I want my daughter to inherit this version of “success”?
-
Is all of this worth it?
A Business That Feels Like Home
As a family business, everything hits a little closer to the heart now. What we’re building isn’t just a brand—it’s a legacy. It’s something I hope my daughter sees and feels proud of our family for, whether she chooses to join it one day or simply learns from the way we run it: with heart, with care, with purpose.
Being a mom has softened my edges and sharpened my clarity. It’s taught me that leadership can look like being nurturing, intuitive, and deeply human. It’s made me more compassionate and in flow, more patient, and even more forgiving with myself and my team.
I’m learning that sustainability isn’t just about products or packaging—it’s about building a life and a business that can hold you, support you, and grow with you through all seasons.
Embracing it all
Motherhood and business aren’t two different hats I wear—they’re threads in the same fabric of my life. Some days I’m toggling between Zoom calls and snack time, making sure emails go out while tiny hands tap at my keyboard. Other days, inspiration finds me during a quiet moment—rocking her to sleep, soaking in a late-night bath, or simply watching her discover the world.
It’s not always balanced, and it’s rarely tidy anymore. But it’s whole.
It’s a rhythm I’m learning to dance with—one that’s equal parts surrender and strength. And in the midst of the chaos, there’s clarity: this is the life I once dreamed of building. And I get to build it, with her in my arms.
I'm currently creating an eco-luxe baby care line inspired by my own motherhood journey— rooted in the daily rituals I practice to nourish her body, soothe her spirit, and honor our bond. It’s called Honey Baby and it’s my love letter to the gentle power of care.
I hope you’ll keep following along as it all unfolds.
